We build the majority of our websites using the LAMP system - Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. This is the open-source web development software system. We believe in and support the open-source community. We find that the quality exceeds that of commercial systems.
Association Management Software (AMS) Integration
We have set up many of our association client websites so that they integrate with a separate database system or association management software system. There are many different ways of approaching this, depending on the AMS or database being used. We are confident that we can customize your website to communicate with or even tightly integrate with just about any type of database or AMS.
Blogs
Aeronet develops website blog systems using either WordPress or one of the Drupal blog modules. We find that both of these systems offer a high level of quality and functionality suitable for any mainstream association or corporate blog.
Board of Directors Private Documents Area
We have set up many of our client websites to include a private area for members of the board of directors. This area usually includes board meeting information, documents and an archive of past meetings and documents.
Bulletin Boards
We have customized the phpBB system for numerous client websites. This system works very well. However, we have found that most of the time our clients get more benefit from a blog - unless their user community is already very active.
Calculators and Other Custom Devices
Aeronet is able to build custom calculators and other interactive devices and systems that will provide real benefits for your users. Custom Flash Development
Aeronet is capable of creating custom Flash systems to enable your website to take advantage of the vast potential offered through the use of Adobe Flash. We are able to set up entirely Flash-driven front end websites that pull information from a database on the back end. This back end system can then be managed using a standard content management interface. This allows you the best of both worlds - the smooth and elegant Flash front end with the flexible, easy-to-update, database-driven back end.

E-Commerce Systems
Aeronet has set up a large number of client websites with customized e-commerce capability. We prefer to set up our sites to use either the Payflow Pro payment gateway system (from PayPal) or Authorize.net. However, we are capable of implementing just about any payment gateway for you. Either Payflow Pro or Authorize.net will allow users to pay online from within a secure area of your website. We always set up our client sites with their own secure certificates which we are able to acquire at a discount from GeoTrust.com.
Event Management Systems
Most of our association clients need their websites to be the main interface used by their members to learn about and sign up for their events. We specialize in customizing event management systems that exactly match our clients' needs and requirements. Our event management systems allow our clients to initiate and manage their events without any assistance from our technical staff. If required, of course, we are more than happy to work with our clients to customize or tailor their system to fit any level of complexity for any event.
Event Registration Systems
Our event registration systems allow your members and customers to learn about, sign up and pay for your events without ever leaving your website. We can set up the simplest to the most elaborate event registration system to match your requirements. Our systems include options for special sessions, guest activities, meals, event documents, early-bird discount pricing, multiple types of users with varied pricing and much more.
Legislative Alert Systems
We can set up an E-mail notification system to send important/urgent notices to your members educating them about legislative issues facing the industry. This could include the ability for members to easily send an e-mail to a group of key legislators. You could create the e-mail content and members could add their own comments, or simply send the message that you create for each alert.
Mass Mailing Systems
Our mass e-mail systems allow you to easily create and quickly send out messages or alerts to your membership or e-mail subscriber database. After you send out your mass e-mail, you can designate a message for posting as a regular web page within your website. Messages can be formatted using HTML or plain text - it's up to you.
Membership Applications
Every one of our association clients has a unique membership application process. We are experts at understanding your membership system and implementing a super efficient online version of this system. Once a membership application system is implemented, we usually also implement an online dues payment or membership renewal system.
Member Database Systems
We have found more and more that our clients want to manage their member database and their website database from the very same place. Our solution is to install your member database on a secure database server that is networked with your website. In this scenario, there is only one database - nothing needs to be synchronized or kept up-to-date! Typically, our client websites also include a mechanism to allow their members to login and update their own profiles as well. We have found that this saves countless hours of staff time copying and pasting e-mail profile updates sent by members into the member database - or worse - re-typing into the member database from a fuzzy fax.
Newsfeeds
We can configure a system to automatically collect and post news articles on your website. Using this system, you will be able to subscribe to third-party news sites' RSS feeds and then filter the articles pulled into your website from each of these sites. Your custom filters will include key words and/or phrases that enable you to be more in control of the listings your site displays from these RSS feeds. Each day, an automatic e-mail reminder will be sent to a designated staff member after the RSS feed scripts have retrieved the titles, dates and links to the RSS feed news articles. This person will be able to then skim through the content management system (CMS) area to quickly flag those articles that are approved for listing within your website. (It is also possible to allow all articles collected to be published, with your staff instead being able to remove any articles that are not appealing or desirable afterwards - a more passive approach.)
Newsletter Systems
We specialize in implementing and customizing newsletter systems that allow you to publish PDF, HTML or E-mail newsletter content within your website. Our systems also allow you to easily send your newsletter to your membership via e-mail.
Online Training and Education Modules
Aeronet has configured a number of very effective and efficient online training and education systems for our clients. These systems allow you to create your own class or course, add one or more modules, each with it's own series of pages, quiz, evaluation and certificate of completion. These modules can be set up to require payment or not. In some cases, our clients have required payment from non-members and offered online education modules for free for their paid members.
Photo Albums
We enjoy configuring and customizing highly functional photo album systems for our clients' websites. Your staff would use the CMS (admin website) interface to upload high-resolution photos, which are then automatically converted to website-ready thumbnails and full-size images. Albums within this system may be set up as available for members only, or for both members and the public.
Podcasts
We often customize high performance podcast systems to enable our clients to easily post audio files in a special podcast area within your website. This database-driven feature enables users on all platforms to easily find, listen to or subscribe to podcasts (using RSS). Because we use a Flash audio player, users never have to install special software - except for the Flash player.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication)
Aeronet can set up your site so that various areas either offer RSS feeds to the public or to your members only. We are also expert at configuring our client websites to subscribe to third-party RSS feeds (see above).
Shopping Carts
Many of our association and commercial clients sell products online using a shopping cart. We are experts at creating custom systems, or adapting existing open-source solutions to meet your requirements. Online shopping carts allow your customers to browse your products, put one or more items into their virtual "cart" and then continue shopping. When your customers are ready to check out, they will be able to review the items in their cart, change the number of any item - or simply remove them - before completing their purchase. We always set up our shopping cart systems to include online, real-time payment authorization and processing. Payments are automatically transferred directly into your merchant bank account.
Social Networking
Many associations and membership organizations are providing their members with a social networking component. This would allow your members to create profiles including photos, bios, etc. This would be useful for business networking, etc. This would be set up to work like "Linked-in" or "Facebook" but wouldn't be quite as elaborate.
User Registration Systems
Aeronet has set up scores of user registration systems. We are experts and learning about and offering strategic suggestions about your user database and registration system. Our registration systems allow visitors on your website to enter a personal profile, company profile, payment information and other important details. Registration systems are typically used for such simple requirements as e-mail list subscription/unsubscription, or even such complex requirements as multi-person event registration.
Website Search Systems
We are experts at customizing either the Swish-E or the Drupal website search systems. These allow your website users to easily type one or more words into a simple field and then sit back and peruse the results. The systems we use all include a Google-like interface, showing key words highlghted and each entry numerically ranked according to its relevance to the search.
