Outward Bound is an international organization dedicated to personal growth through experience and challenge. Outward Bound's mission is to inspire character development and self-discovery in people of all ages and walks of life through challenge and adventure, and to impel them to achieve more than they ever thought possible, to show compassion for others and to actively engage in creating a better world.

We began working with Outward Bound in 2002 as the organization began a major reorganization.  We worked with Outward Bound staff to invent a new, consolidated website where all wilderness courses would be managed centrally.  We were also asked to reinvent the look and feel of the website system for other related sites.

our solution

We developed a lively and vibrant theme for these sites, which helped to simplify and unify all design and functional requirements.  The sites celebrate Outward Bound's rich collection of photographs and student quotes from Outward Bound adventures.  The sites also include completely new navigational systems organized to address the wide range of user priorities.

results

Aeronet helped Outward Bound transition into being an agile, Internet-savvy organization that leverages its website as the central marketing element  to both promote and manage all services and programs.  Students, parents and others now use the Outward Bound website to find course information and learn about the many different  Outward Bound programs and services.  These websites have now been consolidated and are managed internally.
